-
Click the Export button at the top right.
-
From the Format dropdown, select Directory.
Configure Printing
Print configuration depends on the template you select - either default, or custom.
The Default Template
The Default Template provides a series of preset fields that you can turn on or off depending on whether you want them to be printed or not. It’s the simplest way to print a list of members. Here are the fields you can configure:
- Choose a Title for your printed member directory.
- Choose whether you would like to also include the profile picture.
- You can also Hide the default photo if you don’t want it printed.
- Select whether you would like to Group by Family. If grouped, families will be listed together within the same dedicated location and the family photo, if set.
- Include Birthdate: This displays the member’s birth date on the printed directory.
- Include Anniversary: This displays the member’s wedding anniversary date on the printed directory.
- Hide Contact Details: You can choose to hide the mobile phone, email address, and physical address from the printed directory..
- Include Church Address: This includes the address where your church is located.
- Group by Family will group members of the same family together, within a single entry. When this field is enabled, you can also configure the Family Name Format as either Firstname-Lastname, or Lastname-Firstname. E.g.: Maria & John Tomas, or Tomas, Maria & John.
- Sort by Family, lists members of the same family together, one after the other.
Note: If ungrouped and unsorted, your members will be listed alphabetically.
Check the Landscape Mode checkbox if you would like to print the directory in Landscape rather than vertical mode.
Set the Image Size to either Small or Medium.
Check the Preview to see what your Member Directory items will look like.
The Custom Template
The Custom Template lets you configure the printed fields for several types of listed member items:
- Individuals,
- Parents / Couple,
- Single Parent,
- Other Family Members.
With a custom template, you can add a variety of merge fields to print specific information from member profiles. For the Parents / Couple option, you can select merge fields for each of the parents. For the merge fields and their corresponding information to display within your printed directory, you must first ensure that the respective fields you want to add are available for the directory. You can check this under the Member Role permissions:
- Go to Users & Roles > Roles & Permissions.
- Click the options menu (...) next to the Member role and select Edit.
- Under Visible Fields, make sure the fields you want to include in your printed directory are checked.
- Save your changes if you make any.
Custom templates also let you configure the following fields, just like the default template:
- Title
- Include Photo
- Hide Default Photo
- Include Church Address
- Group by Family
- Sort by Family
- Set the Image Size
- Set the Family Name Format
Complete The Print
When you’re done configuring your print settings, click Download (if using the default template) or Update and Download (if using the Custom Template).
Next, your browser print settings will open. Please adjust as needed, then click the Print button. Please note that the screenshot below was taken using the Chrome browser. Your print area may look different, depending on the browser you are using.
Please note that some people might not be listed, even if you choose to add people to the member directory automatically; under Settings > Account Settings > Security. This happens because they have chosen to hide themselves from the Member Directory. In this case, they are removed from both the print and the online versions. Additionally, some profile information may be missing because some members may choose to hide it by editing their Member Directory Settings.

Troubleshoot Printing
There is no print preview or no download when printing on a Mac
If you are trying to print the member directory using a Mac OS device and can’t see a preview or a .pdf file being downloaded, then your browser might be blocking the action. To unblock, click Show blocked pop-up window. This will display the preview so you can download and print your directory.
