The Fund is a wider purpose to which you may allocate part of your money across accounts. Although it is not technically a subaccount, you could think of a Fund as a subaccount, to which you allocate partial amounts held within your main Accounts. Each Fund can be assigned to multiple Accounts and can hold multiple Transactions and Categories/Subcategories.
Add Funds
To add Funds, go to Accounting > Accounts, and click the ⨁ icon above the Funds widget.

Edit Or Delete Funds
You can edit or delete a Fund by clicking the option button next to ir and then selecting either Edit or Delete.
- Edit: You can only edit the Fund Name, not the amounts. To change amounts you must transfer money between funds, as described in the next section of this guide.
- Delete: You cannot delete a Fund if there are transactions associated to it. To enable deletion, you must transfer the amount to a different fund, again. as explained below. Once the fund balance is 0, you can delete it. Note that deleted funds cannot be restored.
Transfer Money Between Funds
To transfer money between funds within the same account, follow these steps:
- Select the Account: Choose the account that contains the money you want to transfer.
- Create a New Transaction: Add a new Income transaction to that account. Add the following Line Items:
- For the first line item, select the fund you want to move money from and enter the amount as a negative value.
- For the second line item, select the fund you want to move money to and enter the amount as a positive value.
- Ensure the Total is Zero: Confirm that the total transaction amount is zero, as you are deducting the same amount from one fund to another.
- Add a Note: In the transaction notes or memo, include a description such as “Transferring from General Fund to Building Fund” for clarity.
This process does not impact your account balances because no actual bank withdrawal or deposit is involved. It is simply an internal reallocation of funds.
