How prizes work

Prizes can be granted to members based on points. You can set a prize to cost a specific amount of points. If a member earns those points, they can spend them on a prize. Once a prize hsa been claimed, the amount of points corresponding to the prize is subtracted from the member’s points total. 

You can add prizes from a person’s profile, under the Points tab; or in bulk, froom the Points > People list. Let’s look at each of these methods in detail. 

 

From a person’s Points profile tab

Every person’s profile has a Points tab (star icon), right after Events. It shows that person’s totals and history for the current points year, and is where you can give points and prizes to one person at a time.

Here is how to give someone a prize from their Points profile tab:

  1. Click Give Prize. The dialog shows the person’s Remaining points.
  2. Choose a Prize. Each prize shows the number of required points in order to earn it.
  3. If Remaining is lower than Points Needed, the dialog says “Not enough points for this prize.” and the Give Prize button stays disabled.
  4. Optionally: add a Note, then click Give Prize.

Once granted, the prize shows in the member’s Points tab history as a negative amount in red, along with a gift icon.

 

Clicking the Cotext (⋮) menu corresponding to a prize entry in a person’s Points profile tab lets you Undo the prize. You will be asked to confirm your choice and notified that the points corresponding to the prize will be given back to the member, while the prize will be retracted. 


 

Give prizes in bulk from the Points > People list 

You can give prizes to multiple people in bulk, from the People list within your Points section. Here is how:

  • Go to Points > People.
  • Check the checkbox next to the people to whom you want to give a prize (tick the photo if using the mobile app).
  • Click Bulk Actions.
  • Select Give Prize. 


     
  • Choose a Reason. The list shows each reason’s default points on the right, and picking one fills in Points and shows the Give/Take Away sign.
  • Change the points or the sign if needed, and set the Date (today by default; no future dates, no dates before the points year began).
  • Optionally, add a Note (up to 500 characters).
  • Click Save.

 

If any selected people do not have enough points for the prize, you will be notified of how many such people there are in your selection, and they will be skipped from being granted the prize.
