If you are looking to create a ministry-specific role that restricts users to managing only certain ministries, this guide will help you understand how to go about achieving what you need in ChMeetings. The setup might be a bit different from what you may be expecting, but it’s still very easy to achieve this result.
If you haven’t done so already, please check our guide to Managing Users, Roles, and Permissions.
First, roles in ChMeetings do not depend on ministries. The workflow is:
- You first configure the role and its associated permissions (Users & Roles > Roles & Permissions).
- Next, you assign the role to a user, under Users & Roles > Users. When doing this, you will be able to select the specific ministries in which you want to add a specific user with a specific role.
In the example screenshot below, you can see a user who is a Member in the main church account (so has no access to backend features). However, the same user has Admin access in one ministry, is a Group Leader in another, and an Event Organizer in a third ministry. When this person switches ministries, their access permissions adjust accordingly.
So you restrict access to certain ministries from the user, not from the role. This is not a workaround, it is how ChMeetings works.
