If they are not available to volunteer for church events on a specific day or within a certain period, members can use the Block-Out Dates feature to set one or more dates or date ranges, and add a reason why they’re blocking out the date(s). Doing this will make them unavailable to be assigned to a volunteering role on the day or within the period you blocked out. Members can do this under their Volunteering section of the Portal.
In the Admin View, this feature is available under Worship Planning > Block-Out Dates. (Or under Reports > General Reports > Block Out Dates Report). Here is where you can see all the dates members have blocked out, as well as add more of them from the admin side.
To add a new Block-Out Date, click Add Block-Out Date.
Next, you can select the member who wants to block-out a date, select a Specific Date or Date Range then set it using the Calendar tool. You can then enter a reason for the block-out, if available.
All dates, whether added by an admin or a member, will display in the list. You can search the list, or filter by date range. In the context menu of each record, you can find a Delete option, which lets you remove that record. Additionally, you can use the Export option to download an Excel file containing your list of black out dates.
All your blocked-out dates are also available as a calendar, within the main Calendar section.
