Introduction

You can access ChMeetings using your computer; or mobile device (phone or tablet). 

The desktop version can be accessed using your preferred web browser or can be optionally installed as a desktop app. 

The mobile version is available for Android and iOS. We offer two types of mobile apps:

1. The ChMeetings Mobile App, which offers full ChMeetings features on-the-go, for anyone using any ChMeetings plan, free or paid. 
2. Branded Church Apps: These apps are custom-branded for churches subscribing to the service. These offer the same features as the ChMeetings Mobile App, plus several exclusive features.

Keeping this in mind, let us explore the main differences between the ChMeetings Desktop and the standard ChMeetings Mobile App. 

Installation Requirements

• Desktop: You and your members can use ChMeetings on a computer without installation, just by opening app.chmeetings.com in a web browser. You can install it as a desktop app if you want to.
• Mobile: You must install the ChMeetings Mobile App or Branded Church App on your mobile device

Desktop-Exclusive Features 

The desktop app is the only one where you can run all available exports. The only export available within the mobile app is People to Mobile Contacts.

Mobile Exclusive Features

The mobile apps (both standard and branded apps) provide additional features that are not included with the desktop app, mainly due to their mobile specificity. Below is a list and screenshots of these extra mobile features:

1. Easy sharing to any tool you have on your mobile device. This applies to the calendar, People profiles, QR cards, and more.
   
   
   
   
2. Import mobile contacts. Do this from Settings > Tools > Import From Phone Contacts.
   
   
   
   
3. Export people to mobile contacts (People > Bulk Actions > Export).
   
   
   
   
4. Tap to select people: To select a person in the People module, please tap the profile picture. There is no checkbox like in the web version.
   
   
   
   
5. Use the mobile camera to scan QR codes, including to quickly check people in for events.
   
   
   
   
6. Quick calls and chats from People's profiles. You can easily tap to call or connect to several chat apps right from people’s profiles. This gets you to the respective apps fast as long as they are already installed on your device.
   
   
   
   
7. Send messages using your mobile phone plan without purchasing ChMeetings credits. This means that you don’t have to use any external SMS provider other than your current mobile carrier. If your plan already includes free SMS messages, for example, you can reduce costs by using your available plan.
   
   
   
   
8. Easily receive push notifications. Anyone who has installed the ChMeetings Mobile App can receive push notifications from your church. (You can send them from both desktop and mobile.)
   
   
   
   
9. Share App option: Whether an admin, member, or guest (someone not logged in), anyone can share the ChMeetings Mobile App from the main menu.
