As a member; you can volunteer for events organized by your church. When your church needs volunteers, they assign members to fill different roles. You can see your assignments, accept or reject them, or block the dates when you are unavailable. This article discusses these features in detail.
Reach Your Volunteering Features
To reach the volunteering features in your account, log in and go to the Volunteering section in the main menu.
View and Respond to Assignments
When opening the Volunteering section, you will immediately see your current assignments. The section title will also display the number of unanswered assignment invites.
You can view Upcoming and Past assignments by clicking one of the options at the top right.
Each assignment mentions the event title, date, and time. If your church has enabled this feature, you will also be able to view other people who are invited to volunteer at the same event.
For Upcoming assignments, you can either Accept or Reject participation by clicking the corresponding button on the assignment. Past assignments can no longer be responded to.
Once you accept or reject an assignment, you will see the Accepted or Rejected status next to the assignment. There will also be an option to Undo your choice. After you undo, you can leave the assignment pending, or choose differently.
Sign Up to Volunteer
You can also sign up to volunteer using a link you receive from your church - via email, social media, SMS message, etc. Use this link to access a signup sheet that lets you select the date (if the event is recurring) and/or the role in which you want to participate. Just tap the corresponding tile to sign up. Once signed up, the assignment will be listed under your Volunteering section, in the main menu.
Block-Out Dates
If you are not available to volunteer for events on a specific day or within a certain period, you can click Block-Out Dates, set one or more dates or date ranges, and, optionally, add a reason why you’re blocking out the date(s). Doing this will make you unavailable to be assigned to a volunteering role on the day or within the period you blocked out.
Click Add Block-Out Date once you added the needed information. Your entry will then display at the top of the section, under the Blocked-out dates section. You can remove an entry by clicking the ⊖ icon next to it.
Assignment Priority
Suppose a leader assigns you to volunteer in a specific role on a certain date, and you accept it, but later you sign up yourself to a different role on the same date. In this case, the assignments conflict and the most recent one takes priority. The first assignment gets rejected.
