Cards List

 

Cards are the main tool you use to add content to your Member Portal. In this guide, we will look at every type of available cards, see how they work and how you can use them to create a Member Portal that’s rich in content for your congregation to interact with. 

This guide lists and explores all available cards. To learn how to manage the content on your Member Portal using cards and pages, including how to set up the Display Configuration of cards, please read our guide on how to Manage Content.

Container

The Container Card allows you to insert other cards into your page using a layout. The goal of this card is to let you add more than one card per row. You can add two or three cards, as well as multiple cards using a scrolling row.

Just select an existing card to add it, then set the display configuration for the specific card. Next, choose a layout and card display configuration for the entire container card. To edit a card you already added, click the gear icon next to it. To delete it, click the “-” icon next to it. 

The demo below shows you how to work with these options. 

Here is what a container card may look like once you’ve set it up: 

 

Link 

A link card allows you to link to anything on the web. Along with the link, you can add a short description, and set an image for your card; which we recommend to be 800 X 250px in size. Once you add an image, you will be able to replace or remove it by clicking the pencil icon in the top right corner. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

Video 

You can publish videos and playlists on your Member Portal using the dedicated Video Card. It allows you to add the link to your video, and enter a description.

 

The card supports YouTube, and you can embed individual videos and playlists. When embedding playlists, you can choose whether to display a horizontal or vertical video list; or use the Playlist view, which lets people toggle the playlist on or off to select which videos to play. Please note that your videos must not be Unlisted on Youtube for this card to display them.

The card also supports Vimeo, using the Video ID, direct links to Dailymotion, Facebook, or Instagram; as well as to MP4 files. 

Note that this card requires the shareable link that you get by clicking the Share option on the video you want to embed. Entering the video URL may not display it.

Once the card is saved, the video will be rendered, both in your preview and on the live portal.  You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

 

Audio 

The Audio Card allows you to link to Spotify single tracks and playlists, SoundCloud, audio.com, a Google Drive audio file, or to add direct links to an audio file, which viewers can play on your church portal. Use the Description field to provide information about the file. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

Photo

This card allows you to insert images into your page. When clicked, this image will enlarge. To configure this card, browse your computer to upload an image (max. 800 X 250px), and enter a description. 

 

  • You can create a photo slider if you upload additional images by clicking the Ꚛ button at the top. 
  • When your image is uploaded, you can use the pen icon to replace or remove it. 
  • The icon depicting a person lets you add alternative text. Here is where you can explain what the image shows and your description will be read out loud by voice readers used by those with limited vision. 
  • You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

Media (Exclusive To The Branded App)

The Media Card lets you display content from your Media Library (which is a feature exclusively available to users of the ChMeeting Branded App).

You can add a Description for the card, then choose what type of media you want to display: 

  • Series: This acts like a playlist when viewed by people on your portal. 
  • Audio,
  • Video,
  • PDF files,
  • Powerpoint presentations.

Select your media type, click the Add button below, then select your desired item. You can only add one item per card, but you can add the Media card multiple times on the same page. Save when done to keep your edits. 

 

 

Form

This card allows you to embed ChMeetings forms on your page so viewers can access and fill them out. All you need to do is select an existing form from the dropdown list of all your existing forms. This list displays forms across ministries and lets you search existing forms or create a new one on the spot. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

Event

This card allows you to link a ChMeetings event. This will allow people to view and register to events, as either members or guests, All you need to do is select an existing event from the dropdown list. You can add a new event from the end of your events list, if the one you want to display has not been added yet.

You can browse events by visibility to Members, Users, or the Public. Note that only Public events are visible for Guests. For Users and Members, events are visible depending on their eligibility (For example their Ministry - if an event is added under a specific Ministry, then only the users and members corresponding to it will see the event.) Each event is accompanied by its date in the list. If your selected event has a banner image, it will be displayed here. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

Upcoming Events 

The Upcoming Events Card allows you to display upcoming events for a certain amount of days. When this card is enabled, members will be able to see what events are coming up, similarly to what they could see using the equivalent Dashboard Widget (which is displayed when you are not using the Builder).

This card lets you enter a title, select the number of days for which events should be displayed, choose a calendar to display events from (or select all). You can add this card multiple times to the same page.. 

 

To configure how this card displays, 

  • Set its Visibility to Guests, Members or Both;
  • Choose the Text Alignment as Left, Center, or Right;
  • Select a Style to set the card’s layout as Horizontal or Vertical; When choosing the Horizontal layout, you can also add the event’s image, if it’s available. You can adjust this by editing your event.
  • Choose a Publish Date if you want the card to be automatically published on that date.
  • Set an Expiry Date if you want to remove the card from your portal on that date.

 

Calendar 

This card allows you to display a calendar of events that are visible to people according to the events’ visibility settings. You can set the calendar view to day, week, or month, or as an agenda view. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

Article

This card allows you to add a blog article to your portal. All you need to do is select the article you want to display or add a new one on the spot. The newly added article will then be preselected and ready to be saved. The article will be visible to people according to its visibility settings. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

Blog 

This card allows you to display a list of blog posts published within a preferred period - from all your blog categories or a specific one. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

To configure how this card displays:

  • Set its Visibility to Guests, Members or Both;
  • Choose the Text Alignment as Left, Center, or Right;
  • Select a Style to set the card’s layout as Horizontal or Vertical;
  • Choose a Publish Date if you want the card to be automatically published on that date.
  • Set an Expiry Date if you want to remove the card from your portal on that date.

Donate Button

This button lets you. enter a custom donation link or use Online Giving via ChMeetings. If you use Online Giving, the button will take viewers to your donation page and will use the payment gateway you integrated with ChMeetings to collect the donation. Learn more about Online Giving. You can only add one button to the same page.

 

Google Map

This card lets you display any desired location on a Google Map, which people can use to navigate to your church or an event location, for example. Just add a title and address to enable this card. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

Social Media Links

This card allows you to showcase your social media profiles and allow members or guests to visit, right from your church’s login page. All you need to do is drag the card to the Edit mode, add links to your social profiles, and save. You can choose whether to make the card visible right away, or not; and also who can see it (Guests, Members or Both). You can only add this card once.

This card supports the following social and communication channels:

  • Facebook,
  • Instagram,
  • X (Formerly Twitter),
  • TikTok,
  • Spotify
  • YouTube,
  • SoundCloud,
  • Website Link,
  • Zoom,
  • WhatsApp,
  • Telegram.

 

Live Streaming

You can use the Live Streaming Card to add a link where you will be streaming live. Simply add the link then save to get it ready. Once saved, the card will be published immediately, unless you set a publish date. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

Verse of the Day 

This card displays Bible Gateway’s Verse of the Day. The card displays a different verse each day. Just customize the title, set the Display Configuration as needed, and save.

 

RSS Feed

This card lets you link an RSS feed to embed it into your portal. You can set a title and a maximum limit of items. You can add this card multiple times to the same page.

 

Text/HTML

The Text/HTML Card lets you format text, add images or add HTML code to your Guest/Member View. You can use this card to personalize your portal with pretty much any content and make it more useful and informative..The preview of this card will display your formatted text and any images you attach, or it will render any HTML you provide. You can add multiple Text/HTML Cards to the same page.

 

Page 

Page Cards allow you to reference existing pages or create new ones. Rather than displaying all the information on one page, you can organize it into pages. For example, you might want a separate page for Events, another for your Blog articles, etc. A Page Card allows you to add cards, just as you would on the default homepage. The Page card works in sync with the Page Manager at the top of the Builder but provides more detailed options. Any page creation, edit, or removal will reflect in both areas.

When adding an existing page, you can select any page you already created, from a dropdown.

 

When creating a new page, you can configure the following: 

 

  1. Set the card to Create a new page.
  2. Upload a page banner image of 800x250px.
  3. Enter a Page Title.
  4. Turn on Display Title if you want the page title to be displayed on the live page. 
  5. Clicking Manage Page Content takes you to a new blank page where you can manage page content by adding cards, just as you would on the main page. This includes nesting a page card within a page card. This way you can create more complex web pages where your guests and members can access the content you want to provide, in an organized manner.
  6. Under Display Configuration, set the card’s visibility: 
    1. Members: Only those who are logged into an app account can see the card. 
    2. Guests: Only those who are not logged into an app account can see the card.
    3. Both: The card is visible to anyone regardless of whether they are logged in or not.
  7. Choose the preferred Text Alignment (Left, Center, or Right).
  8. Set a Publish Date and Expiry Date for the page card.
  9. Save when ready. This is required for your card configuration to be saved. This does not save automatically.
