Note On Registration To Paid Events
As a church servant, you will be able to confirm event registration to paid events right away and bypass the payment process that displays to members when they register by themselves from within their ChMeetings accounts. Such an approach may be useful, for instance, when members are unfamiliar with mobile apps, or when the event is paid and the payment is made in cash or by bank transfer.
Any payments corresponding to the registrations you make can be managed by servants/admins under the event’s People & Tickets section or within the main Event Payments section. Members can also make the payment themselves, from within their ChMeetings account, by accessing the event they were registered for, within the Events section. If the event has partial payments allowed, then both servants and members can make partial payments after registration. Otherwise, full payments may be entered in both cases. Learn more in our guide to Manage Event Payments.
Required User Permissions
Only users with registration management permissions can register other people, who are not part of their family. These users can be Owners, Admins. Group Leaders or have a custom role. The two permissions they require are Registration and Cancel Reg. Members can only register themselves and people belonging to the same family.
Register Members
Registering members is generally the same for both one-time and recurring events in terms of steps within ChMeetings. The most significant difference is that people cannot be registered to a full recurring event; just to each occurrence.
To register someone as an attendant to one of your events, please follow the steps below.
Go to the Events module and select your desired event from the list. You can tell if the event has registration enabled by the ticket icon above the event name.
-
On the event’s screen, click Register.
If you are working with a one-time event, the Register button will be at the top right of your event screen.
If, instead, you are registering someone to a recurring event, then the Register button will be next to each occurrence (Both as a standalone button and as an item within the occurrence options menu.). Note that in this case, registrations can only be made per occurrence, not per the entire event At the moment, it is not possible to register people to all occurrences of an event.
Regardless of your event type, you will next reach the event registration page. Here, please click again on Register.
Next, notice the registration area that shows up at the bottom of the registration page, and click on Add People.
-
Search for the person you want to register, using the Select People dropdown. Once you select a person, they will be added to a list at the bottom of the window. Click on Add when you are ready to complete the selection. If you change your mind, simply select another person from the list and the previous selection will be removed.
You can only add people one by one, unless the selected person is part of a family; in which case you can select others from the same family in one go. Registering multiple members of a family will create one registration record for all selected people.
If someone is restricted from registering to events in a specific calendar, for a certain period of time, then they cannot be registered. You will be informed on this matter by hovering over the 🛈 icon next to their name.
Your newly registered person will now be displayed within the event’s ticketing section.
To remove someone already selected, click the delete icon next to their name.
If there is a Mandatory Registration Form configured for the event, then you must fill it out on behalf of the registered person.
If there is an active Group or Early Bird Discount for the event, it will apply automatically when you book for the minimum number of people or before the Early-Bird Expiry Date.
If there is an active Promo Code for the event, you can enter it to activate the discount.
Note that you can only apply one discount per registration when there are multiple discount types available. To confirm the registration, click on Confirm Registration.
You will now see the person’s registration details.
Alternative Registration Path
You can also begin someone’s registration from within their individual profile, in the People module. Go to the Events tab, click Register to Event. find the event you need, then click Register. You will be directed to the event registration page, where you can follow the same process described above.
Register Guests
When you enable event registration, you can also enable the registration of guests. This feature is available for both free and paid events, but only when the event requires registration.
To enable guest registration, create or edit an event, then go to Registration > Allow Guest Registration..
Guests can only be registered by a user with registration permissions, or by a member. Here are the steps to follow:
Go to the Events module and follow the same steps as for member registration, until you reach the event registration page. Here, please click on Register.
Next, click on Add Guest.
You will then be asked to enter the guest’s Name, Email and Mobile Number.
If the registration requires a form containing this information, then it will automatically be pulled into the registration details, as you must fill the mandatory form on behalf of the guest.
Simple Registration
If the event you’re registering people for has Simple Registration Enabled, the process becomes much simpler. All you need to do is enter the Attendant Count, associate them with an existing member, and choose any specific ticketing options as needed.
You do not need to select each attendant for this type of registration. The attendants included in the count can be both members and/or guests.
For simplicity, the screenshot below shows you a free event with Simple Registration enabled:
Simple Registration allows you to create add-on tickets to sell additional items during events. So, if you’re registering someone for an event with this registration type, then you’ll also have the opportunity to choose any add-ons.
Manage Registration Records
Once a member’s or a guest’s registration is completed, they will be displayed within the People & Tickets list, as well as in the Event Registration Log Report. To learn more, please see Work With Event Registration Records
